Duties include the following;
Islamic Banking and Insurance is the premier organization responsible for promoting Islamic way of conducting financial transactions. To make Islamic banking comprehensible to the public, the Institute conducts regular training courses, holds seminars and conferences, publishers’ books and research, and issues a monthly magazine called New Horizon.
My responsibilities included the following:
Organizing training courses on Islamic banking
Delivering occasional lectures on various aspects of Investments
Co-editing the monthly magazine of the Institute
Participating in the deliberations of the academic committee
Negotiating with potential partners for joint projects

Faisal Finance (Switzerland) S.A. is a Swiss-based private portfolio company, and is a subsidiary of DMI Group. Faisal Finance (Jersey) is also a subsidiary of DMI with a mandate to develop and distribute products and manage funds for external clients. I have held concurrently the positions of Vice president responsible for external Asset Management and Investments for the former entity and Managing Director for the second. This arrangement allowed me to offer full cycle of investment services to our clients i.e. product development, placement, investment management, etc. through offices in Geneva and Jersey. Some of the achievements included the following:
Helped the creation of Faisal Finance (Jersey) in 1996 and turned it into a profitable company; within the first 4 years of its existence, the retained portions of its profits amounted to $12.9 million.
Launched and managed Luxembourg-based Multi-Compartment umbrella Fund.
Launched a number of regional and country-specific Funds out of Jersey and Labuan offshore centers (i.e. IMIF and Egypt Funds).
Managed a portfolio of alternative investments in leasing and trade financing investments in excess $250 Million.
Helped Faisal Finance to become a profitable business entity.
Designed an in-house Islamic Equity Index well before the likes of Dow Jones and FT launched their family of Islamic indices.
Structured and launched the first US-based securitization of senior lease assets that complied with Islamic Sharia principles.
Developed policies and procedures for initiating and managing the investment department.

Boston Capital Institutional Advisors (BCIA) is one of the leading real estate investment and management companies in the city of Boston, USA. Faisal Finance (Jersey) owned 20% of the Company and I was appointed to represent the interests of the company in the board. The company executed transactions worth $4.5 billion within the four-year period I served as Director. My duties/achievements included the following:
Thorough examination and approval of the annual budgets.
Participating in all major board meetings.
Approval of all major investments.
Initiating and/or approving all new key clients and strategic alliance.
Directing the company on all Sharia rulings in investments.
